1 The official currency of Hungary is the Hungarian Forint, or HUF. 1 USD is about 220 HUF, while 1 EUR is about 300 HUF. Most prices are displayed in Forints (Ft), but many shops accept Euros as well. Always ask about the current exchange rates!
2 Public transportation in Hungary is reliable and cheap, and the same applies to Balatonfüred. Buses run hourly in off times, or more frequently in the morning and in the late afternoon.
3 Every august the Balaton promenade of Füred lights up for a vivid wine festival. Wine tasting, concerts and cultural programs await visitors.
4 You cannot mention Balatonfüred without talking about the Anna Ball. This prestigious ball is held in July and it is a prime event in the Hungarian calendar.

6 Tourism in Balatonfüred is quite big, so finding a welcoming place to stay is quite easy. Try Hotel Astoria, the service is friendly and the food is great!
7 If you have no real needs ask around for Hotel Blaha Lujza, they have some cheap rooms.
8 Feel like catching some art? Just visit the Jókai Memorial Musuem, which serves as a gallery also and is dedicated to the great Hungarian writer, Mór Jókai.
9 The city has several great beaches, some cheap, some more expensive.
10 The Tagore Sétány, or Tagore Promenade lies on the shores of the always sunny Lake Balaton. The view is amazing and has a special, intangible atmosphere.
