Marrakesh, Morocco travel tips

Top Tips view all
Take time to wander around the markets. It's one of the best ways to get to know the city, and you'll find all sorts of beautiful leather goods, baskets, and spices to bring home.
Check out the drinks at the lovely rooftop Cafe Arabe.
Take in a photography exhibition at Dar Cherifa, or simply enjoy the beautiful architecture here.
Look for a riad with a rooftop garden or terrace--it provides a great way to escape the cacophony of the city--you can observe all the chaos from above.
One of the most elegant restaurants in the city is Le Foundouk, which is housed in an incredible riad.
For lovely Moroccan leather goods, be sure to stroll along Rue Fehl Chidmi.
Some of the city's finest shops can be found on Rue Dar El Bacha.
If traveling as a couple, have dinner at Dar Yacout, one of the city's most romantic restaurants.
Be sure to wander through the Tanneries. It can be a bit smelly, and can feel a little sketchy--even though it's usually not--but it's an interesting experience.
There are many fabulous riads in Marrakech, but for a great location, book a room at Dar Rocmarra.
