1 Crime is very rare in the UAE. That said, it is still wise to take precautions and be aware of your surroundings.
2 If you are under age 21, you won't be able to rent a car in Dubai.
3 There is no legal alcohol to blood ratio limit in Dubai for drivers.
4 If you do not have an international drivers license but plan to drive in Dubai, check their list of qualifying countries to see if you can obtain a temporary local driver's licence there.
5 When driving, note that speed limits are strictly enforced in Dubai.
6 Despite being more liberal than most other Arab countries, Dubai is still very conservative with it's dress code.
7 The Arabs are very pleasant in Dubai but are not punctual so be prepared to wait if there for a business meeting.
8 Keep in mind that if your restaurant is not at a hotel, you will not be served alcohol.
9 From fast food to exquisite dining, everything to suit any taste bud is available in Dubai.
10 Despite being an Islam country, you can find a Hindu temple, two Catholic churches, an Anglican and a Protestant church in Dubai if you need a place to worship.
